My First Blog

Hey, My name is "The Turk" and I am a singer and I enjoy all different styles!! :-)
I am 16 years old, and am year 11 at a High School in Melbourne..
I have been singing since Primary School and have always had a passion for music
Although I enjoy singing comtemporary music, I prefer listening to more rock, punk, alternative type music.
In my regular practise routine, I usually spend 10-15 minnutes practicing my scales and solfer, and 30-45 minutes working on my songs, each night.
I am motivated by the people around me, the energy of other people believing in me really motivates me.  When I perform I want to impress people watching, so I make sure I practise regularly and try not to make any mistakes.

  1. Hi Turk,

Sounds like you've got a good practice routine going - woohoo! Hopefully our discussions will help you pick up a few techniques so you're practicing in the most efficient way possible.

  2. Hi Turk!

I missed you in class today. To catch up on what you missed, you need to read the next section of the article in your music handbook starting from "Getting To The Practice Room" up until "The Warm-Up".

Then you need to write a new blog entry. Your blog entry should be called "I practice best when...." You could talk about:
Time of day (morning, after school, night, weekends)
Mood (sleepy, happy, relaxed, pumped up, focused)
Duration (long blocks of practice or lots of smaller blocks)
    Place (bedroom, school, lounge room)
Stuff you need (metronome, snacks, water, CD player etc)
People (alone, near people, in front of your family)
Practice techniques you use (playing slowly, hands together or apart, focusing on difficult sections)
Schedule (every day, weekdays, weekends etc).

    Good luck
